The windows on Buena Vista St. have gone through some drastic changes by adding the park merchandise into the once beautiful windows.
I’m not a big fan of this new set up because the park merchandise is overflowing in these windows, making them even more unattractive. If a few pieces of merchandise were scattered around in these windows, I wouldn’t mind, but the Imagineers put so much thought and love into these windows and now they’re being overruled by merchandising.
I really hope this is only a temporary solution, but I honestly don’t have any idea.
And then I bitch about this again because it’s not a temp solution. It’s not something that was thought out by anyone other than idiots in marketing trying to sell crap to the masses. It’s not what these windows were intended for. It’s not how you pay reverence to thought and research and care and love put into them. It’s not here for any reason at all!
Cause you know what the art window needed? Cooking supplies! You know what the Mary Blair desk needed? Crappy Merch! You know what people want to see instead of custom baseball jerseys made entirely for the street? Cars Land shirts! You know what antiques need shoved on top of them? 20 or so ear hats!!!
Sorry, I’m just passionate about this because I really love BVS. I may be partial because I know the Imagineer who worked on it personally and I know how much thought and research and work and strive they put into this thing (
I also know how heartbroken he was to see what they did to his windows as I was there when he first saw them). It’s complete BS and it’s just another example of part of the company “not getting it”
